4 Pillars of Gratitude
Tis’ the season🥳! We are officially 2 weeks and 6 days away from saying farewell to 2020 + welcoming 2021 and all its possibilities. Being this close to the end of the year feels different this go round. I know I’m not the only one that feels like this has both been the LONGEST year ever + feeling like where did 2020 even go😅? During this time of year, I like to dig deep and go heavy on my gratitude. Making room for gratitude is an important aspect of my self-care rituals. My gratitude practice keeps me in check. Reminds me to not just see the big picture, but to have a…

Energetically Grounding
How I start the week is extremely important. My Mondays set the tone for how the rest of my week will go energetically. If Monday flies by, everything happens without a hitch, Im optimistic about the rest of the week to follow. In the same breath if my Monday is full of hiccups, detours + the unexpected then Im energetically drained right at the start of the week. Because I am aware of how important the way I begin my week is to my energy + mindset, I take extra steps to ground and protect my energy on Mondays. Grounding provides us with the tools needed to protect our energy.…

A Week of Mindful Eating
I started eating mindfully and it has completely reshaped how I view mealtime. I wouldn’t categorize myself as a fast/quick eater before last week, but after completing a full week of mindful eating I now know I have been scarfing down food hand over fist since Ive been old enough to feed myself. Why do we quick eat? There are a lot of situations that can produce a behavior of quick eating; from growing up in a large family down to lunch time in school we have all experienced situations that have conditioned us to eat fast. Even as an adult I have experienced “30 min” lunches or visiting restaurants…

7 Affirmations of Grace
Have you ever heard the saying “Words have power”? The words we speak have the ability to either breath life + manifestation or it can fuel negativity + tear down esteem. For the most part we have all been taught to speak kind to one another, the ole “if you don’t have something nice to say, then don’t say anything at all”, but for whatever reason those rules tend to not apply when thinking of self. Negative self talk is REAL. We have all been guilty of it at some point or another. Didn’t get the job? We pick apart why we were not qualified. Didn’t fit into the dress?…

Celebrating Wins
I left the house TWICE this week without my wallet + once without my keys (I took my hubs)🤷🏾♀️. I let a cantaloupe go bad because I completely forgot it was outside. Sigh. Let’s just say on more than one occasion this week, I was given “signs” that I needed to slow down. This week was hard. Things didn’t go as planned. I had to pivot + dodge. And I have never been happier about seeing the weekend. Why is it so easy for all the things that went wrong to roll off our tongues? Why don’t we take the time to celebrate our wins? Not just the big ones,…

Got Breakfast? 5 Quick Morning Ideas
For the longest time I’ve avoided breakfast. I even deemed myself as a non breakfast eater for much of my twenties + even the start of my 30s. The issue wasn’t as simple as not being hungry in the mornings. My issue was I never knew what to make AND the things I would think to make seem to have an ingredients list a mile long. So like many people I just loaded up on ice coffee or beverages and thugged it out till lunchtime. This of course left me STARVING by lunch, which was a domino effect of bad food decisions for the rest of the day 🤦🏾♀️. What…

Water Propagation in 3 Steps
Ok Plant parents, if you are already part of PlantHood then you probably have a good idea of what Propagation is. If you are newer to this Lifestyle, propagation is taking the cutting of one plant (parent plant) and growing a new plant from the clippings. Propagation is a good tool to use when shaping or pruning your plants + its an amazing way to grow a whole new plant without spending more money! Now while there were lots of positive reasons to propagate I was super nervous about taking those steps on my own. I didn’t like the idea of cutting my plants. I did the research. Looked at lots of…

Time to Relax: 3 Tips
Ok, this is not a drill people, I need all hands on deck!! Today was the first day of back to school virtual learning + it is off to a very bumpy start.
